SEPP' x Kellerei Meran - RED *Special Edition* DOC 2025

Description

We are particularly excited about this collaboration: SEPP' x Kellerei Meran. Together with Kellerei Meran, we searched for the perfect red wine for the South Tyrolean "Marende", and we found it with the most traditional South Tyrolean red wine: the Meraner Vernatsch DOC. We simply call it ROT.

Vernatsch is the oldest indigenous red grape variety in South Tyrol and is particularly highly regarded in our immediate surroundings, in the Merano region. A true all-rounder for food pairing, especially with speck and traditional South Tyrolean dishes. Chilled, this light red wine is a popular appetizer. Pure tradition paired with a fresh, fruity drinking experience.

GRAPE VARIETY: Meraner Vernatsch
CULTIVATION ZONE: Labers, St. Valentin, Küchelberg 300-450m
SOILS: Light, permeable morainic gravel
AGE OF VINES: 20 - 40 years
AGING: Traditional red wine fermentation in large stainless steel tanks; subsequent malolactic fermentation and aging on fine lees for approx. 5 months in large oak barrels.
NOTES FROM THE CELLAR MASTER:
The color is bright ruby red. On the nose, this wine evokes associations of Burgundy drops, red fruits, and violets; on the palate, very soft tannins with balanced fruit acidity and a fine finish.
